On-siteQuality Assurance$51k–$66k/yrFull-time

This highly hands-on role supports a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment for advanced semiconductor-related capital equipment and plays a critical part in production readiness and overall product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of vendor-supplied components, including precision-machined parts, sheet metal components, system housings, and structural assemblies.
  • Review and validate first article inspection (FAI) documentation packages, including material certifications, vendor-provided dimensional reports, and compliance to engineering drawings.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections on subsequent material receipts to ensure consistency and ongoing quality compliance.
  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to identify and prioritize critical-to-quality dimensions.
  • Perform detailed dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and manual tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Verify that all inspected features meet defined tolerances before releasing materials to production.
  • Set up and operate CMM equipment for precision measurement, including defining reference datums and alignment points, configuring part orientation and measurement paths, and executing inspection routines.
  • Adjust and optimize CMM inspection setups for new or unfamiliar part geometries to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.
  • Identify non-conforming material and initiate corrective workflows in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Create detailed discrepancy records within SAP, including clear descriptions of deviations, supporting inspection data, and photographic documentation when applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering to support disposition decisions such as use-as-is, vendor returns, scrap, or rework actions.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Buyers to communicate with vendors regarding non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a key interface between incoming inspection, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain to support timely and effective resolution of quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on drawing clarity and manufacturability when inspection issues or recurring deviations arise.
  • Support a major production ramp by maintaining a consistent inspection workload and ensuring that components are ready for downstream manufacturing.
  • Exercise ownership and autonomy in making quality-related decisions that directly influence production readiness and product performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • At least 4 years of experience in quality control, quality inspection, or quality assurance roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including setup and operation for precision measurement.

  • Experience working in ISO-based quality environments.
  • Experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on dimensional inspection experience using manual measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and related metrology equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems for recording discrepancies and managing quality data.
  • Experience with semiconductor, capital equipment, or closely related high-precision industries.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, documentation, and inspection records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, inspection-focused environment while maintaining high quality standards.
