Quality Control Inspector 2nd Shift

About the role
This position is responsible for executing inspection plans in cooperation with quality engineering on the 2nd shift at our Decatur, AL facility. You will prepare inspection plans and checklists, perform and document quality inspections, and support the maintenance of metrology equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare inspection plans and checklists in cooperation with quality and production teams.
- Execute inspection plans and checklists in collaboration with quality and production teams.
- Support the maintenance and calibration of metrology equipment via databases, including the collection and quarantining of items.
- Perform and document quality inspections using prescribed methods, systems, applications, and frequencies.
- Use precision measurement equipment to verify product quality.
- Identify and document nonconformances in various systems and applications.
- Support causal analysis of nonconformances and implementation of corrective actions.
- Perform all duties within established time and process requirements.
- Proactively support the Continuous Improvement Process.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience as a quality inspector in an advanced manufacturing industry.
- Ability to inspect, test, and measure materials or products being produced.
- Excellent technical and planning skills.
- Proficient communication and positive interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and understanding of proper identification and documentation.
- Ability to clearly understand processes, procedures, and standards.
- Flexibility to work any or modified shifts as business conditions require.
- Experience with varied platform programs in production, integration, and test.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
- Strong root cause analysis skills for corrective actions.
- Experience with processes and handling of non-conforming product.
- Composite component industry experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of Quality or Mission Assurance experience.
