Quality Control Engineer
About the role
The Quality Control Engineer (QCE) position requires a 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management, with minimum 1-2 years of experience on large commercial construction projects. The position is safety sensitive and requires a valid driver's license. Essential duties include interfacing with the owner's quality assurance team, participating in submittal reviews, performing inspections, managing punch lists, and coordinating third-party testing.
Responsibilities
- Interface directly with the owner’s quality assurance team on all quality-related issues.
- Participate in submittal reviews, weekly QC meetings, and preparatory meetings.
- Perform all initial and follow-up inspections and manage the punch list process.
- Initiate deficiency reports and track their resolution to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
- Work closely with trade partner quality control personnel to understand their QC procedures.
- Review trade partner’s quality control logs and ensure corrective actions are implemented, when required.
- Absorb and implement third-party testing agency’s results.
Requirements
- A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local reporting requirements and regulations.

- Technical experience and capability to comprehend specifications, standards, and code requirements for all disciplines.
