About the role

This is a 3-month contract-to-hire position based in South Gate, CA. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of transitioning to an 8 AM to 5 PM schedule after one month. The role is fully onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control tests on incoming raw materials and finished goods, including making necessary batch adjustments.
  • Prepare or obtain Certificates of Analysis or quality documents as required, and scan them into the BUS system.
  • Prepare standard reagent solutions and ensure lab equipment is in good working order.
  • Standardize pH meters, densitometer, viscometer, and refractometers as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory and surrounding areas.
  • Provide dye and dye solutions to the plant for production purposes.
  • Test hazardous wastes and returned goods as requested.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Dispose of or retain samples as per regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and attend required training sessions.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in chemistry or quality control testing.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical testing.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment such as balances, viscosimeter, densitometer, and spectrophotometer.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and statistical inference.
  • Ability to read and interpret job-related documents.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the field.

Pay

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
