About the role
This is a 3-month contract-to-hire position based in South Gate, CA. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of transitioning to an 8 AM to 5 PM schedule after one month. The role is fully onsite.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control tests on incoming raw materials and finished goods, including making necessary batch adjustments.
- Prepare or obtain Certificates of Analysis or quality documents as required, and scan them into the BUS system.
- Prepare standard reagent solutions and ensure lab equipment is in good working order.
- Standardize pH meters, densitometer, viscometer, and refractometers as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory and surrounding areas.
- Provide dye and dye solutions to the plant for production purposes.
- Test hazardous wastes and returned goods as requested.
- Maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Dispose of or retain samples as per regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and attend required training sessions.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in chemistry or quality control testing.
- Hands-on experience with analytical testing.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment such as balances, viscosimeter, densitometer, and spectrophotometer.
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and statistical inference.
- Ability to read and interpret job-related documents.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the field.
Pay
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
