Job Summary

ELM Utility Services is seeking a Quality Control Auditor/Trainer for their Akron, Ohio area office. The primary role involves increasing the quality of work performed in Ohio and includes training new Field Technicians using the Star training program. Responsibilities include utility auditing, integrating retraining needs into the training program, conducting ride-alongs, and traveling to various locations for extended periods to perform training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Utility auditing when training is not in session
  • Integrate retraining needs into the training program
  • Conduct ride-alongs to qualify technicians
  • When auditing, spend time in the field environment with some administrative work required, and be exposed to all field hazards
  • Occasional lifting materials up to 50 pounds is required
  • Must be able to travel to various locations for extended periods, up to two weeks, within the state to perform training sessions

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass random drug screens
  • At least 1 year of experience in the utility industry and 1 year of underground locating experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite / Word and Excel experience is a plus
  • Previous training experience is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
