Quality Control Associate I, Instruments

Job Scope

The Quality Control Associate I, Instruments is responsible for performing the prescribed intermediate and final QC test procedures, generating test reports according to department policies and procedures, and ensuring instrument products meet Luminex Quality Standards. This position also involves performing equipment maintenance, calibration, test area cleanliness, assisting in continuous process improvement, and assisting with inter-departmental interfaces.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in core QC functions and associated activities relating to Intermediate and Finished Product Control
• Fulfill individual and sectional CAPP objectives
• Cook up and/or conduct sectional maintenance and calibration of local measuring and monitoring devices
• Absorb and/or maintain test area(s) cleanliness and integrity
• Schedule outsourced testing and services
• Maintain section supplies, focus on supplies, and generate Purchase Orders as needed
• Absorb section metrics
• Absorb the development of departmental test methods
• Absorb the development of specifications for raw materials, products, acceptance, etc.
• Absorb validations of section test methods, equipment, and processes
• Absorb document change control and engineering change control activities
• Absorb continuous improvement projects
• Absorb the resolution of section audit findings, observations, and recommendations
• Absorb investigations initiated through non-conformances, corrective action, or customer complaints
• Participate in design and implementation of new quality initiatives and programs
• Document non-conformances
• Conduct quality record Completeness Reviews
• Participate in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training
• Interface with other departments and participate in meetings as required
• Assist in training of section personnel
• Ensure personal compliance and facilitate sectional compliance with the Quality System and Health and Safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in technical field or more than 3 years related experience and/or training
• 2+ Years of relevant work experience or training
