About the role

The QC Associate (Quality Control Associate) will ensure all jewelry products meet Blue Nile’s quality standards and specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining excellence in jewelry manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of in-process jewelry products—including rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other accessories—to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Provide feedback to bench workers on the quality of individual jewelry pieces during manufacturing to promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and record quality-related data, including defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards in jewelry items (e.g., design, craftsmanship, settings, gemstones, and overall finish).
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gemstone gauges, magnification devices) to verify the accuracy of jewelry dimensions, gemstone sizes, and other critical measurements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company quality control policies throughout the jewelry manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • GED or equivalent high school diploma.
  • Previous experience in Quality Control, particularly in a jewelry manufacturing company, required.
  • Familiarity with the jewelry manufacturing process, including materials, gemstones, settings, and finishing techniques, preferred.
  • Ability to use tools and instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gemstone gauges, magnification devices) to perform precise measurements and inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose process improvements and strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams within production.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer fluency, including Microsoft Office products.

Pay

Base pay is $22.50–$24.00 per hour. Final pay rate is determined based on experience and qualifications.
