Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances; participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Ensure parts conform to customer-specific quality standards.
- Carry out in-process, first article, and final inspections as needed.
- Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration records are up to date.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure a clean and organized inspection area compliant with safety and 5S principles.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace quality standards.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems and inspection software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ERP/QMS systems).
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed at an inspection bench or work table in a manufacturing or repair facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/sit for extended periods.
- May be exposed to oils, solvents, and moderate noise.
