Location: Sparks, MD • Duration: 12 months • Hours: 40/week • Pay rate: $20–30/hr • Contract on W2 (US Citizens or Green-Card holders only)
Schedule
- 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Note: Position requires operating a forklift and working in refrigerated (2–8 °C) environments up to 10 hours per day.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and control Quarantine, Hold, Expired, Return Goods, and Recalled product inventory.
- Process records and ensure timely disposition of all Quarantine and Hold product.
- Follow up on hazardous-waste disposal with contractors; maintain manifests and certificates of disposal.
- Create and finalize paperwork and reports for QA Holds, Recalls, CAPAs, Returned Goods, and Expired product reviews.
- Operate material-handling equipment (forklifts, turret trucks, order-pickers) for placement, placarding, and movement of product.
- Maintain accurate reports for the business unit and internal management.
- Answer questions and report information regarding Quarantine, Hold, Expired, Return Goods, Recalled product, and scrap.
- Complete RADR sample requests assigned to Quality.
- Provide direction and coordination to the warehouse team on segregation, identification, and movement methods.
- Support authorized scrap of product and actively participate in quality programs and project teams.
- Recommend continuous-improvement initiatives for department work processes and operating procedures.
- Assist the Quality Manager in preparing procedures, work instructions, hazardous-material shipping papers, and reference guides.
- Prepare reports on Quarantine, Holds, Expired product, Return Goods, scrap, and recall activities.
- Ensure all QA holds are properly recorded, product is secured, and disposition information is provided on time.
- Meet customer response-time requirements and follow corporate and regulatory policies.
- Document lot reconciliation and internal records for product retrieval.
- Report product damage to account representatives and obtain authorization for disposition.
- Discard non-conforming product via scrapping (compactor or authorized trailer) or donation orders.
- Create orders and arrange transport.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; some college helpful.
- Hazardous Materials (RCRA) training required.
- Understanding of FDA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations.
- One or more years of warehouse experience, including computer skills; quality-control background helpful.
- Forklift certification and ability to pass equipment-driving tests (forklifts, turret truck/order-picker).
- Basic Windows PC skills; prior SAP knowledge desired.
- 3–5 years of distribution-process experience preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow established procedures.
- Demonstrated teamwork and ability to influence others in a dynamic environment.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift or move 5–26 lbs continuously and 25–60 lbs frequently.
