About the role
Please note that this posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment opportunity with Amazon. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through Amazon’s approved 3rd party Direct Source provider for the duration of the specified project and will not be an employee of Amazon. As a Product Quality Lab Technician, you will play an integral role supporting our client’s Product Quality Team.
Responsibilities
- Manage first production retains (storage and cataloging)
- Lead the cooking, preparing, and presenting of samples weekly end of shelf life evaluations
- Conduct independent product quality evaluations and store walks to investigate potential product quality issues
- Report evaluation results and investigation findings to internal stakeholders
- Maintain, clean, and organize the product quality lab and equipment
- Update lab policies and procedures
- Perform other miscellaneous product quality and administrative duties as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field from an accredited university
- 1-2 years of experience working in the consumer-packaged goods industry or laboratory setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and deliver against rapid timelines
- Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to anticipate team needs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to excel in team settings
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; specifically Excel and Word
- Good typing skills and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in product development and/or quality assurance
- Understanding of and experience in general food/manufacturing processing and laboratory techniques
- A passion for food and strong culinary skills
- Experience with customer feedback data, root cause analysis problem solving, and communicating with cross functional teams
- Basic lab skills (undergrad work/entry level, etc.)
