Responsibilities

• Inspect and release incoming raw materials, performing visual inspections and/or physical properties testing, evaluating results, recording information, and reporting on materials to determine product release approval status.
• Perform first article inspections, in-process, and final inspections using inspection and testing equipment.
• Communicate product quality problems and troubleshoot them in coordination with other departments.
• Perform all job functions in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
• Complete quality documentation and record data into logs and databases.
• Handle and disposition non-conforming products and materials detected within the facility in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
• Participate in internal audit teams and supplier development audits; initiate preventive and corrective actions when necessary.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.
• Set up and perform tests on materials or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Apply statistical process control to monitor and control processes when required; enter data into computer databases for analysis and/or preparation of charts and graphs.
• Represent the quality assurance department in daily operations meetings.
• Train production personnel on new or revised product quality standards.
• Conduct Quality Systems and/or Product assessments at sub-contractor and/or supplier sites when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of own and adjacent work areas.
• Perform other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Preferred Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Minimum Experience: Prior experience in quality inspection and/or manufacturing is desired.
• Certifications/Licensure: ASQ Certified Quality Technician is preferred.
