Quality Assurance Technician

What You'll Do

• Perform quality checks to ensure product meets quality metrics.
• Represent Boochcraft with enthusiasm and confidence.
• Ensure a safe workplace.
• Adhere to the Quality Management System and contribute to its improvement.
• Follow proper operating procedures.
• Conduct lab analyses including titratable acidity, alcohol and density analysis, PCR, cell counts, measuring CO2 and DO, and can seam analysis.
• Collect samples using the ASBC method of aseptic sampling.
• Prepare media and plates as needed.
• Use standard deviations to interpret trends in the brewery data.
• Set up and administer sensory panels.
• Clean and organize lab space.
• Assist production when needed.
• Collaborate with the innovation group as needed.

What You'll Need

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• If no formal education, must have an Associate’s degree and relevant laboratory experience.
• Preferred experience: 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a high-volume production plant.
• License or Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
• Specialized Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite; experience in growing and analyzing complex cultures of yeast, bacteria, and/or enzymes; developed palate for flavor and ingredient distinctions.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

This position pays between $21.50 per hour to $23.00 per hour.
