General Function
The Quality Assurance Technician / Trainer works 100% on-site in Pinellas Park, FL and is responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards through inspection auditing, training, data collection, and quality support activities.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform inspection audits on incoming substrate materials and final inspection audits to ensure product conforms to Inspection Standards.
- Carry out 100% inspection of cosmetic rejects to ensure the Inspection Standard is being adhered to.
- Collect, document, and maintain inspection and quality data for assigned shifts.
- Deliver training on inspection procedures and quality standards, and monitor competency of Shields Team Members performing inspection-related activities.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and retraining to Shields Production Team Members to improve inspection accuracy and quality performance.
- Support investigations and troubleshooting efforts related to manufacturing quality concerns, defects, and yield losses.
- Provide operational support on production lines as needed, including cross-functional coverage during staffing gaps or business demands.
- Serve as backup support for QC/Analytical Lab Tech and 1st Shift Supervisor as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in optical manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed visual inspections with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience training, coaching, and developing others in manufacturing processes or quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to spend extended periods standing, walking, reaching, and working on the production floor.
- Ability to safely work with and around various chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
- Flexibility to work staggered schedules, overtime, and alternate shifts as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of clean room technology and coatings is strongly desired.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
