QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (UPWARD MOBILITY PROGRAM).

About the role

The Quality Assurance Department at Trident Refit Facility (TRF) Quality Assurance seeks individuals to assist senior Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) in various developmental assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support senior quality assurance specialists in executing reviews, surveillances, and audits to evaluate technical and administrative operations conformance to procedural, technical, and quality assurance requirements.
• Collect data from surveillances, audits, deficiency reports, and examinations.
• Review material certification, inspection, and test results of production, inspection personnel, or contractors to ensure technical adequacy and compliance with technical requirements.
• Aid with the development and maintenance of procedures or training for quality assurance programs.
• Aid in obtaining information from databases, technical requirement documents, and other systems.
• Maintain and retrieve historical records.
• Attend formal and informal training courses.
• Receive on-the-job training by observing senior quality assurance staff in performance of quality management duties or performing work under observation.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Must be willing to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• Must be willing to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• Must be willing to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

• GS-09 or WG-10 equivalent (or higher) to be eligible for this opportunity.
• Must be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions.
• Must have a current annual performance rating of fully successful or equivalent rating.
• Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs.
• Education: This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
