About the role
The Quality Assurance Department at Trident Refit Facility (TRF) Quality Assurance seeks individuals to assist senior Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) in various developmental assignments.
Responsibilities
- Support senior quality assurance specialists in executing reviews, surveillances, and audits to evaluate technical and administrative operations conformance to procedural, technical, and quality assurance requirements.
- Collect data from surveillances, audits, deficiency reports, and examinations.
- Review material certification, inspection, and test results of production, inspection personnel, or contractors to ensure technical adequacy and compliance with technical requirements.
- Aid with the development and maintenance of procedures or training for quality assurance programs.
- Aid in obtaining information from databases, technical requirement documents, and other systems.
- Maintain and retrieve historical records.
- Attend formal and informal training courses.
- Receive on-the-job training by observing senior quality assurance staff in performance of quality management duties or performing work under observation.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Must be willing to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Must be willing to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Must be willing to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
- GS-09 or WG-10 equivalent (or higher) to be eligible for this opportunity.
- Must be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions.
- Must have a current annual performance rating of fully successful or equivalent rating.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs.
- Education: This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
