Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist inspects completed work to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. This role works closely with leadership to identify issue trends, highlight problem areas, and maintain expert knowledge of products and procedures. The position fosters employee engagement, effective communication, and proactive problem-solving to align with daily operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all products/orders are received, stocked, picked, sorted, or packed with a high level of inventory accuracy and quality.
• Maintain internal error trackers and utilize company systems to track accountability, productivity, and accuracy standards.
• Inspect inventory for incorrect items or quantities, damaged or expired products, and erroneous data entries.
• Capture pertinent data, focusing on trends and potential training gaps to solve problems and improve operations.
• Accurately record and maintain daily data sheets and/or reporting forms for submission.
• Assist in training new and current employees to ensure uniform and consistent processes; address and correct receiving process issues.
• Assist leadership in providing feedback when required.
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment; adhere to all safety training and company policies.
• Meet performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety guidelines and reporting hazards.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
• Abide by all company and warehouse policies.
• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 lbs.

Experience

• 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.

Education

This role does not require a degree. Relevant skills, experience, and alignment with core values are prioritized.

• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a desire to exceed expectations.

Working Environment

• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
• Occasional exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.
• Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
• Average and normal passage of employees through the work area.
