About the role

The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist conducts qualitative and quantitative testing of products and raw materials throughout the entire production process, ensuring products and packaging meet standards. As a QA Specialist, you are responsible for setting up and participating in experiments and research as directed by the QA Manager. QA Specialists may be cross-trained and asked to support other departments occasionally to meet business needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections, auditing against cGMP and SQF criteria and confirming product quality standards are being met.
  • Maintain strict inventory record of raw materials, chemicals, waste, and equipment.
  • Manage, document, and dispose lab waste.
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and products.
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws.
  • Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas.
  • Immediately inform QA Manager of any system or equipment discrepancies.
  • Ensure all products are of high quality and visually aesthetic, reporting concerns to management for remediation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of QA experience in a laboratory setting or 2 years of manufacturing assembly line experience required.
  • A positive attitude and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Able to understand proper and safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to safely climb, squat, bend, twist, kneel and stand for at least 8 hours per day, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate degree or equivalent preferred.
