Quality Assurance Specialist
About the role
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for in-process and finished product testing to ensure that product quality is consistently maintained.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and use laboratory equipment to test materials and finished goods, ensuring they meet the quality standards of the business unit, using equipment such as viscometers, pH meters, titrations, refractometers, and balances.
- Audit the work of production employees to ensure adherence to mixing specifications.
- Inspect incoming raw materials when required to assure they meet company requirements.
- Aid manufacturing personnel in addressing quality problems, collaborating with departments such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
- Inspect all finished products prior to shipment to ensure compliance with company specifications and procedures.
- Maintain records related to all aspects of quality operations.
- Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies.
- Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences (Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, etc.).
- Chemistry lab experience, including academic lab experience, is acceptable.
- Ability to manage a complex workday and prioritize tasks effectively.
Required skills
- Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques, including viscometers, pH meters, titrations, refractometers, and balances.
- Proficiency in quality assurance and quality control practices.
- Strong chemistry, biology, and wet chemistry skills.
- Ability to maintain detailed batch records.
Work environment
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 4 pm, with occasional overtime on Fridays when needed. The role offers opportunities for learning and advancement, as both research and development and chemical production occur on-site. This is a fully onsite position in De Pere, WI. This is a Contract to Hire position.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
