Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse/RN will deliver care to individuals in a community setting using the nursing process. They will interact with individuals, significant others, and health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by the standards of professional practice or law
• Ensure individuals attend medical appointments per their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
• Advise supervisor of all concerns and issues related to the provision of nursing services
• Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team to include any concerns, observations, and behavioral developments
• Train employees on the medical needs of assigned individuals
• Maintain the use of medications through medication administration logs
• Monitor health and medical conditions of individuals and refer for medical services as needed
• Build a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nursing field
• Minimum of one year of experience providing nursing services to individuals with disabilities
• Valid nursing license
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with an individual receiving supports
• Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations

• $32.00-$36.00 /per hour
