Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

Wieland is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and advance the enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) across all Global Services Business Unit facilities nationwide. This role is accountable for overseeing the development and management of the strategic direction for the quality management system and standards, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. The position is fully remote, located out of Louisville, Kentucky, with 50% travel required to plant locations nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or AS9120 as needed.
• Maintain the enterprise QMS across all ISO-certified facilities.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies to ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal quality policies, and customer requirements.
• Establish an escalation path for systemic or non-compliance related issues to the Corporate Leadership Team.
• Serve as the Management Representative appointed by the BU President to lead QMS, Systems Assessments, Standards, Training, and Certification.
• Manage the annual corporate management review process, including coordinating SWOT, PESTLE, Interested Parties (IP), and Risk Register analyses for corporate reporting and recertification audits.
• Analyze quality performance data, trends, and risks; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop, implement, and update quality assurance programs, procedures, and operating practices aligned with business objectives.
• Lead Monthly Quality Site Meetings and monitor progress against action items.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Operational Excellence, and Human Resources Teams to standardize quality practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor vendor/supplier-related issues to support supply quality and adherence to quality standards.
• Travel to plant locations nationwide to provide quality leadership, coaching, training, and audit support.
• Lead, mentor, and support Business Unit Quality team members and QA leadership.
• Monitor site quality teams' independence from operations.
• Define opportunities for standardization across sites.
• Collaborate with Commercial Leaders to develop a standard approach to yearly customer surveys for consistent feedback and actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in QA/QC within manufacturing, preferably with ISO 9001, AS9100, or AS9120.
• Lead Internal Auditing experience in ISO 9001, AS9100, or AS9120.
• Experience in transforming metal products into industrial manufacturing environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence others without direct authority and strong change management skills.
• Proficiency in Oracle, Consense, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office software programs.
• Strong organization and follow-through skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks.
