Quality Assurance Inspector

About the role

The Quality Assurance Inspector must ensure that daily departmental goals are met and assist in inspecting all upholstered pieces and slip covers produced by the assigned upholstery line before sending them for further processing. The primary focus will be Final Inspection on the weekday shift at our Booneville, MS location.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits; adhere to Personal Protective Equipment standards.
• Adhere to Williams-Sonoma policies with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
• Clean up covers behind upholsterers by cutting strings and detailing pieces before inspection.
• Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to meet production goals using Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure all product has consistent ½ inch seams and meets or exceeds stated quality requirements.
• Verify ticket, fabric, cushions, and pillows match the PRD while performing tasks safely and efficiently.
• Inspect overall appearance, including seams, stitches, fabric defects, cushion corners, welt, and overall tailoring.
• Work with associates to maximize productivity while ensuring quality and safety compliance.
• Ensure all decorative labels are in the correct location.
• Suggest improvements to current techniques and processes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the shift.
• Scan tickets and load inspected pieces onto the conveyor belt for the next processing step.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of inspection experience in quality operations in upholstered furniture.
• Good math and reading skills.
• Experience reading and understanding production tickets.
• Ability to interpret simple instructions in a production manual.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team.
• Excellent time-management skills; ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong sense of urgency and time management to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 10-hour periods and bend/twist at waist and knees to inspect upholstered pieces.
• Ability to see patterns on fabrics and color variations.
• Must be able to lift 20-60 pounds frequently.

Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
