Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on fabricated metal and composite parts, assemblies, and subassemblies per technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Interpret and apply AS9100D, MIL-STD, and customer-specific quality requirements throughout the inspection process.
- Verify dimensional and visual compliance using calibrated tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Complete inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and first article inspection (FAI) documentation in accordance with AS9102.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Ensure traceability of materials and components by verifying Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material test reports (MTRs), and manufacturing travelers.
- Participate in internal audits and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable quality system procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or defense.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, mechanical drawings, and inspection methodologies.
- Proficiency in using standard measurement instruments and tools.
- Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements and document control practices.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices related to government contracts, DoD standards, and ITAR/EAR compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or portable metrology tools (e.g., FARO arm).
- Experience with CMMS or QMS software (e.g., CMPro, TipQA, or equivalent).
- IPC, AWS, or NDT certifications a plus.
- Previous experience supporting DCMA inspections or source inspections.
