About the role
The Quality Assurance Engineer II plays a crucial role in ensuring production meets customer expectations and adheres to internal and external quality standards (ISO/AS). They are expected to uphold the company's core values and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and sign off on quality plans for new and existing programs.
- Lead MRB meetings to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and issue SCARs for Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
- Create rework processes and document Failure Analysis and Improvement Reports (FAIR).
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve processes.
- Manage calibration of measuring tools and issue Return Material Authorizations (RMA).
- Prepare certification packages for production shipments and review supplier certifications.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and prevent defects.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through process optimization and innovation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 to 5 years of prior Quality Engineering experience, preferably in Aerospace Machining or Contract Manufacturing.
- Experience creating in-process inspection control plans.
- Experience working with Engineering/Machining to troubleshoot manufacturing defects.
- Firm understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or advanced Excel skills.
- Firm understanding of hands-on mechanical inspection and setup.
