Quality Assurance Engineer II

About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer II plays a crucial role in ensuring production meets customer expectations and adheres to internal and external quality standards (ISO/AS). They are expected to uphold the company's core values and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and sign off on quality plans for new and existing programs.
• Lead MRB meetings to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage and issue SCARs for Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
• Create rework processes and document Failure Analysis and Improvement Reports (FAIR).
• Collaborate with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve processes.
• Manage calibration of measuring tools and issue Return Material Authorizations (RMA).
• Prepare certification packages for production shipments and review supplier certifications.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and prevent defects.
• Support continuous improvement efforts through process optimization and innovation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 to 5 years of prior Quality Engineering experience, preferably in Aerospace Machining or Contract Manufacturing.
• Experience creating in-process inspection control plans.
• Experience working with Engineering/Machining to troubleshoot manufacturing defects.
• Firm understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or advanced Excel skills.
• Firm understanding of hands-on mechanical inspection and setup.
