Quality Assurance Engineer
Position Summary
This position supports Quality, Safety, Environmental, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on New Product Development (NPD) and project execution. The role works closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to support product launches, process improvements, and operational performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and support Quality-focused NPD, process improvement, and infrastructure projects
- Provide onsite support for product trials, testing, and launches
- Partner with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to drive project execution
- Track performance metrics and prepare project updates
- Support development and implementation of standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Aid in improving process consistency, product quality, and operational efficiency
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or process environments preferred
- Experience working with SOPs, work instructions, and process standards
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to collaborate across teams and support project execution
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed
Preferred Experience / Certifications
- ASQ (CQE and/or CMQ/OE) or SME Lean certifications (or willingness to obtain within 24 months)
- Professional safety certification (as determined by leadership)
Work Environment
- Based onsite at an active mine and manufacturing facility
- Regular exposure to production, processing, and operational areas
- Work may involve walking, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, or mud
- PPE required during plant work, including steel toe shoes and other safety equipment
- Travel up to 25% to support additional facilities
