Role Summary

A Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for verifying the quality and reliability of application releases within a remote work environment. This role involves comprehensive manual testing, documentation, and the development of automated test scripts to ensure seamless deployment and operational performance. The engineer will collaborate with development teams, track defects, and support continuous testing efforts to maintain high standards of application quality.

Responsibilities

  • Review test requirements, specifications, and documentation for each release in staging and production environments.
  • Prepare and manage test data for both staging and production environments.
  • Design, execute, and document functional test cases in staging and production.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure new updates do not impact existing functionalities.
  • Log, track, and prioritize defects using tools such as ALM and VersionOne.
  • Collaborate with developers to verify defect resolutions in staging and production.
  • Validate deployment, configuration, and system readiness in staging and production environments.
  • Execute smoke tests in production to verify basic functionalities post-deployment.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright to build a robust regression suite.
  • Monitor system logs and alerts for issues, escalating as needed, and document test results thoroughly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with load testing using Azure Load Test Suite and jMeter.
  • At least 1 year of experience testing applications within Google Cloud Platform, IBM WebSphere, and Wildfly environments.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and document manual test cases in both staging and production environments.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as ALM and VersionOne.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Relevant work experience must be supported by a degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work history (at least 2 years).

This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.

Publishing Pay Range: $35.00 – $45.00 hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
