Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all manufactured fittings meet stringent aerospace and defense industry standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and testing to verify conformance to product specifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Identify, document, and resolve non-conformance issues, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain) to address quality issues and support product lifecycle development.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any identified quality issues or deviations.
- Develop and conduct training programs to ensure all employees are aligned with quality standards and best practices.
- Maintain and update the company’s quality management system (QMS) and ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality activities.
- Prepare quality reports, performance metrics, and documentation to communicate the effectiveness of quality initiatives to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in product design reviews and change control processes to ensure quality considerations are integrated early in the development phase.
- Collaborate with external vendors and customers to address quality concerns and improve product performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant standards.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in quality inspection tools and software (e.g., CMM, Calipers, Micrometers, GD&T).
- Experience with CAD systems and familiarity with blueprint reading and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and certifications specific to aerospace and defense manufacturing is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma.
- Experience with software like Minitab, SAP, or other quality assurance management systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, coatings, and hardware components used in fittings and fasteners.
