Responsibilities
- Affirm all project-related work plans and project-specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are onsite.
- Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements.
- Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents.
- Understand drawings and specifications.
- Implement the Three Phase Control System.
- Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports.
- Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely manner.
- Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents.
- Proactively initiate deficiencies and non-conformances documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions.
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality or non-compliance with design documents.
- Verify materials received are same as those identified in approved submittals and complete material receipt inspection checklists.
- Cook and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems.
- Document all tests and results.
- Coordinate, witness, and document completion inspection process.
- Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents.
- Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
- Supports a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, or CMAA Certification.
- 7+ years of DoD construction experience, including firm-fixed price design-build construction; 5 years as QC Manager.
- Large project experience ($50M to $100M) very helpful.
- DoD design-build experience preferred.
- USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors training certification required (or have the ability to quickly attain this).
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel user.
- CMAA Certification preferred.
