About the role

At Barclays, you’ll play a pivotal role in turning strategy into measurable outcomes by driving high-impact programs, strengthening risk and controls, and accelerating delivery across the business. As a Quality Assurance Analyst at the AVP level, you will autonomously assess the effectiveness and consistency of AML investigative activity against established policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations. Your work will identify, document, and escalate control, policy, and process gaps through structured QA reviews, ensuring every finding is accurate, evidence-based, and applied consistently. This role reinforces our risk and control framework by validating AML outcomes, identifying emerging trends, and contributing to governance, reporting, and remediation oversight. Responsibilities

  • Determine, negotiate, and agree on internal quality procedures, service standards, and specifications to improve performance and quality.
  • Identify industry trends and developments to implement best practices in quality assurance services.
  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate quality assurance processes.
  • Develop and govern internal quality assurance procedures, standards, and specifications, acting as a catalyst for change, mitigating risks, and maintaining efficient operations.
  • Develop reports and presentations on quality assurance performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for change in quality assurance processes; offer feedback and coaching to colleagues on these areas.
  • Execute service quality assessments to monitor quality objectives set by the bank and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives to improve quality assurance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Determine risk based on the outcome of QA reviews, flagging risks that are outside of tolerance.

Requirements

  • Anti Money Laundering (AML) experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of correspondent banking AML risks and related controls (nested/downstream activity, payable-through/clearing, respondent bank risk profile).
  • Effective management of workloads, timelines, and dependencies, balancing short-term delivery with longer-term value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to different projects and ability to multi-task.
  • Technical skills and analytical capabilities with a point of view to drive decision-making and project management.
  • Ability to turn data into actionable insights, prioritize work effectively, and deliver outcomes on time and within scope.
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks/issues, following policies and documenting decisions.
  • CAMS certification (preferred).

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work closely related to other areas, understanding how they coordinate and contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to stay aligned with business activity and strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult content, to various audiences.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Location

This role is based out of Whippany, NJ.

Pay

Minimum Salary: $70,000
Maximum Salary: $135,000
The salary range includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
