Quality Analyst - Ambulatory (SMG)

About the role

The role supports the WVUHS Medical Group ambulatory network through the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality, safety, access, patient experience, and performance data to drive continuous improvement across physician practices and outpatient services. The position partners with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to advance quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, patient experience initiatives, and performance improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and analyze quality, access, patient experience, and safety data (e.g., clinical quality measures, utilization, throughput, outcomes).
  • Develop and maintain standardized dashboards, scorecards, and reports aligned with WVU Medicine priorities, payer requirements, and regulatory benchmarks.
  • Develop and utilize tools to track, analyze, and report quality metrics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to support ambulatory accreditation and quality programs.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries for leadership, committees, and practice teams.
  • Effectively communicate quality performance insights to clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Schedule Weekly Hours: 40

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Data Analytics, Quality Improvement, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years experience working with healthcare data, quality reporting, performance improvement, or clinical data.
  • Experience within a multi-specialty ambulatory network or academic medical center.
  • Quality or performance improvement certification (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma).

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience within a multi-specialty ambulatory network or academic medical center.
  • Quality or performance improvement certification (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma).

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with data and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Epic reporting tools, or similar platforms).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Work collaboratively across clinical and administrative teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with value-based care, payer quality programs, and population health metrics.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement principles.
