About the role

The Quality Engineer will lead internal audits, supplier quality initiatives, corrective and preventive action programs, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction. The role is a fully on-site role located in our Lincoln, CA offices and will report directly to the Quality Manager. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What You’ll Do

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality assurance processes, procedures, and protocols in compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
    • Execute and manage the internal audit program, including scheduling, conducting audits, completing audit checklists, documenting findings, issuing audit reports, and verifying corrective actions.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure timely closure of audit nonconformances.
    • Support external audits conducted by customers, registrars, and regulatory agencies.
    • Maintain quality documentation, records, procedures, work instructions, forms, and metrics.
  • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and other problem-solving tools.
    • Own and manage customer-generated corrective actions, including Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and Customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
    • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and perform RCCA investigations associated with Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
    • Monitor and expedite closure of corrective and preventive actions resulting from: Customer complaints Internal audits Supplier issues Nonconforming products Management review action items Safety and compliance concerns.
  • Supplier Quality Engineering: Manage supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with engineering, quality, and contractual requirements.
    • Review and analyze receiving inspection data to identify supplier quality trends and risks.
    • Cook up supplier corrective actions for nonconforming purchased materials and outsourced processes.
    • Conduct supplier evaluations, qualification audits, and performance assessments.
    • Develop and maintain Approved Supplier Lists (ASL) and Preferred Supplier Programs.
    • Qualify suppliers for reduced receiving inspection sampling plans based on demonstrated quality performance.
  • Product Quality and Inspection Support: Gather, analyze, and manage quality and inspection-related data for outsourced and internally manufactured products using company quality management software.
    • Develop and validate inspection methods and quality verification processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Coordinate implementation of product and process improvement initiatives.
    • Analyze quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and risk-based thinking initiatives.
    • Drive defect reduction, process capability improvements, and supplier development programs.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 3–5 years of quality engineering experience in an aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or highly regulated environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or applicable work experience.
  • Product Quality expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in quality assessments.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining processes and tools.
  • Experience with quality standards and regulations in the aerospace industry.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: 90,000-110,000. Commensurate with candidate experience.
