QC Technician II - 1st Shift

About the role

The QC Raw Materials Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of raw materials used in manufacturing leading-edge viral vector therapies. This position is based at the Plainville, Massachusetts site, which is a key manufacturing facility for Viral Vector Services (VVS).

Responsibilities

• Raw Materials Inspection: Review of received goods, documenting particulars, cross-referencing information, and detecting incorrect goods.
• Raw Material Sampling: Arrange, collect, label, store samples, perform sample adjustments in SAP, and gown into clean rooms.
• Material Transfer and Cleanroom Gowning: Perform equipment cleaning and create purchase requests for shipping raw materials to external/internal laboratories.
• Documentation Reconciliation: Reconcile test results for GMP materials release and identify, escalate, and support investigations for non-conformances.
• Additional QC Duties: Perform documentation reviews and additional QC checks as directed by the QC Team Manager and SOPs.
• Ad Hoc Duties: Support Quality Department activities as requested by the QC Team Manager or Senior Manager, Quality.
• Training: Train personnel on OJT.
• Site Meetings: Occasionally attend site meetings and act as liaison with contract testing labs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting, or related field.
• Experience working in a GMP (GxP) environment preferred.
• Knowledge in the use of Pharmacopeia such as USP, EP, and JP preferred.

Qualifications

• Positive, proactive approach to drive tasks to completion.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., with or without accommodation.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and database management.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate experience working without direct supervision/under own initiative within the remit of the role.

Pay

$18.65 - $26.00/hr

Schedule

Shift: 1st Shift
Shift Hours: 7:00AM – 5:30PM

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• May include working with dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, as well as marked changes in temperature.
