QC Technician

About the role

This role is responsible for the quality and acceptability of the fabricated products and ensures the use of the quality approved processes and our products meet the fabrication standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Safety Guideline and procedures set for this role.
  • Does not operate any equipment, machinery, or tool(s) if he/she has not been trained to operate.
  • Monitors and reviews information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Inspects materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Provides information to supervisors or co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person to help the team make proper business decisions.
  • Evaluates the preparation of concrete mix designs.
  • Evaluates and reports proper dimensions, conditions and cleanliness and placement of the products.
  • Ensures the proper placement of reinforced steel and embedment.
  • Inspects and evaluates the mixing, placing, consolidating, finishing, and curing of the concrete.
  • Conducts final inspections of the products before releasing it to the yard.
  • Validates the procedures for damage repairs and evaluations.
  • Verifies proper final procedures and the results for handling and storing our products.
  • Ensures the final products have the proper approval stamps and the products have been released to shipping without damages or quality failures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Knowledge of arithmetic and geometry and their applications.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, and production processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED desirable but not required. 12 months in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in heavy manufacturing and/or concrete desired but not required.

Skills

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers, and the public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must procure all certificates and licenses to perform position as well as be qualified by AmeriTex Pipe to operate powered Industrial Trucks required to fulfill position requirements. ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Field Testing and ACI Aggregate Certifications. The Company provides accredited certifications to provide career advancement and increase in compensation.

Monday-Friday 5:00am-5:30pm
