About the role

The Quality Control Operator ensures products meet their respective specifications and quality standards by performing physicochemical analyzing, measurement testing, and monitoring steps of the production process. This role also supports and promotes a strong quality and food safety culture by following established procedures, identifying potential risks, and encouraging continuous compliance with GMP, quality, and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collect product samples and conduct routine quality checks throughout the production process to verify compliance with established specifications.
  • Perform physicochemical analyses and measurement testing, including finished product weight, oxygen levels, and other required product evaluations.
  • Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), process control points, product defects, foreign material controls, and packaging integrity in accordance with food safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality control records, including inspection results, laboratory analyses, deviations, corrective actions, and verification activities.
  • Conduct routine GMP, Food Defense, hygiene, and sanitation verification inspections to support compliance with Barcel USA quality and food safety standards.
  • Support allergen control, color-coding compliance, cleaning validation, and prevention of cross-contamination during production, changeovers, and start-ups.
  • Assist with quality and food safety investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions when product safety or quality may be affected.
  • Promote a strong quality and food safety culture by following established procedures, reinforcing GMP expectations, and promptly reporting concerns or nonconforming conditions.
  • Support the 5S program by keeping work areas, utensils, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for production use.
  • Comply with company safety rules and procedures and help identify opportunities to eliminate unsafe conditions.
  • Support all quality shifts as needed and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Windows environment.
  • Ability to do math computation and calculation.
  • Time management skills.
  • Teamwork abilities.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating professionally and effectively with others, as well as receiving feedback.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferably.
