About the role

Join us at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a QC Scientist I to contribute to global health through quality control testing that ensures the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. You will perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses in support of manufacturing operations while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Working with advanced analytical instruments, you'll conduct testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples. Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses in support of manufacturing operations
  • Conduct testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples using advanced analytical instruments
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and pharmaceutical quality standards
  • Maintain data integrity and follow standard procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required with at least 1 year of experience, preferably within a lab setting
  • Proficiency with analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, dissolution testing, and wet chemistry methods preferred
  • Experience with microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and aseptic techniques
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations and documentation practices
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Physical requirements: standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and manual dexterity
  • Must be able to work in cleanroom environments wearing required PPE
  • Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed
  • Laboratory setting with exposure to hazardous/toxic materials
  • Office environment

Pay

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $25.60–$38.30. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
