About the Role
The 2nd Shift QC Lab Tech will provide manufacturing support by maintaining measured product flow through Quality Control processes. Using lab equipment, EtQ, SAP, Outlook, Excel, and SunQ (color software/hardware), you will verify manufacturing adherence to product specifications. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor and requires adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Location: Northlake, IL
Shift: Monday–Friday, 2pm–10:30pm
Responsibilities
- Follow and engage in site safety initiatives and protocols.
- Execute quality initiatives and programs, processing all related documentation for production.
- Demonstrate effective training and execution of Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Initiate Continuous Improvement Programs for the department.
- Minimize errors through document proofing and review.
- Label and retain production material to ensure traceability.
- Coordinate with leadership to ensure product meets specifications.
- Develop strong interdepartmental relationships.
- Perform standardized quality control tests.
- Make effective material additions to ensure product design compliance.
- Approve completed batches against prescribed specifications.
- Support calibration and equipment verification systems.
- Maintain quality control records in accordance with ISO standards.
- Exhibit 5S behaviors and maintain a clean lab and equipment environment.
- Demonstrate best practices to meet KPI and site metrics expectations.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Adapt to scheduling flexibility, including weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of industry technical experience.
- High computer aptitude (EtQ, SAP, Outlook, Excel, SunQ).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to prioritize, follow up, and follow through.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Basic understanding of technical and analytical testing.
- Flexibility with scheduling and adaptability to business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree or technical trade school education.
- Experience with chemical solvent testing.

Pay
$53,000 – $63,000 base pay (actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and other factors).
