QC Inspector - Nucor Towers & Structures

About the role

The QC Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that all finished products meet customer specifications and adhere to AWS D1.1 standards. This position involves performing dimensional layout and visual weld inspections on all welds in accordance with established quality inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Verify and document that finished products comply with customer specifications and AWS D1.1 standards.
• Perform dimensional layout and visual weld inspections on all welds.
• Document all inspections on appropriate inspection forms.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of welding experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• ASNT SNT-TC-1A VT Level II or CWI certification (preferred)

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with manufacturing steel transmission/distribution monopole structures (preferred)
• Experience in blueprint reading and layout (preferred)
• ASNT SNT-TC-1A UT Shearwave Level II and MT Yoke Level II (preferred)
• Experience with galvanizing and coatings inspections (preferred)
• Knowledge and experience with weld inspection to the requirements of AWS D1.1 (preferred)
• Goal-oriented with a drive for continuous improvement
