QC Inspector

Responsibilities

• Team Leader: Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.
• Receiving Inspection: Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Construction Quality Control: Confirm only approved welders, procedures, and materials are used in production. Perform inspections professionally, safely, and without bias.
• Document Control: Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS).
• Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites:
  • Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
  • Recognize safety hazards and risks.
  • Participate in onsite safety meetings.
  • Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
  • Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
  • Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.
  • Display a positive attitude and work in a team environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations outside the Houston area.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical Demands

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
• Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Qualifications

What will put you ahead:

• 5+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• AWS CWI Certification.
• ASNT Level II VT Certification.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1.
• Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months.
• NACE Coating Inspector Certification.
• API Certifications (570, 510, or 653).
• Knowledge of ASME Section V, IX, and B31.3.

Compensation is determined by available market data, considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. The range provided may be higher or lower based on these factors.
