QC Inspector

Responsibilities
- Team Leader: Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.
- Receiving Inspection: Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Construction Quality Control: Confirm only approved welders, procedures, and materials are used in production. Perform inspections professionally, safely, and without bias.
- Document Control: Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS).
- Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites:
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
- Recognize safety hazards and risks.
- Participate in onsite safety meetings.
- Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
- Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
- Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.
- Display a positive attitude and work in a team environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations outside the Houston area.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Physical Demands
- Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
- Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
- Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
- Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.
Qualifications
What will put you ahead:
- 5+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- AWS CWI Certification.
- ASNT Level II VT Certification.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1.
- Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months.
- NACE Coating Inspector Certification.
- API Certifications (570, 510, or 653).
- Knowledge of ASME Section V, IX, and B31.3.
