QC Chemist I

Leading flavor/fragrance manufacturer located in Mt Olive is in need of a Chemist to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing using instruments such as Densitometer, Refractometer, Colorimeter and Polarimeter.
• Perform organoleptic evaluations to render disposition.
• Maintain Lab Management system, recording and reporting analytical results.
• Update various other systems as per procedure.
• Investigate non-conformances, compiling and analyzing test information to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Communicate technical information to both internal and external customers for Quality Control services.
• Provide information or documentation when requested, e.g., Specifications, Certificate of Analysis.
• Maintain laboratory, including cleaning and organizing work area.
• Maintain lab equipment, validate instruments as required by procedure, and ensure routine cleaning.
• Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001.
• Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities as outlined by ISO 9001 process flows.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience using laboratory equipment such as: Densitometer, Refractometer, Colorimeter, Polarimeter, Gas Chromatograph, and Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer.
• Strong understanding of wet chemistry practices.
• College degree with 2+ years of experience in a QC environment.

Pay

$70k–$75k, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 1st Shift.
