QA Technician – Mechanical and SMT

About the role

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets including aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research.

Responsibilities

• Follow documented inspection procedures for both electrical and mechanical evaluations.
• Perform SMT/PCBA incoming inspection to verify conformance to specifications.
• Execute in-house PCBA changes, rework, and soldering modifications as required.
• Conduct incoming mechanical inspections using precision measurement tools.
• Document incoming inspection failures and initiate return to vendor paperwork.
• Accurately document findings and enter inspection data into the ERP system.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, including problem-solving and corrective actions.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in electronics, SMT, quality inspection, or a related field.
• Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Experience with microscope inspection and SMT soldering required.
• IIPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret PCBA drawings, diagrams, schematics, and related documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; skilled in hand-tools and soldering techniques.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable working with microscopes and other precision inspection equipment.

Pay

$44,500.00 - $59,300.00 annually
