About the role

LISI AEROSPACE is a specialized company in the design and manufacture of high-tech metal components for aircraft engines and airframes. Our QA Technician I (Inspection) C Shift position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet stringent customer standards through thorough inspections and tests.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspections of semi-finished components, precision machined components, and sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Maintains inspection reports and records inspection data accurately.
  • Uses precision measuring equipment to perform detailed dimensional inspections.
  • Coordinates inspection activities with leads and employees in the area where work is being performed.
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints and performs tasks associated with the movement of materials, supplies, and finished goods.
  • Performs physical and metallurgical tests on in-process and final production parts.
  • Verifies calibration on all test equipment before use and reports any safety violations or improper work.
  • Assists in the Shipping and Receiving department with stocking and re-stocking, ensuring accurate product and material counts.
  • Supports the Preliminary Material Review Team (PMRT) by sorting parts and conducting lab sampling when needed.
  • Controls and maintains the measurement of uncertainty calculations for all required gages.
  • Participates in engineering projects as a gage expert and resource.
  • Adheres to and implements all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of metallurgical or physical laboratory experience.
  • Understanding of test equipment and lab procedures.
  • Basic mathematical functions and ability to perform unit and weight measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, ring gages, pin gages, go and no-go pin gages, optical comparators, and microscopes.
  • Good understanding of geometric tolerance per ANSI Y145.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent education. Minimum 1-3 years of metallurgical or physical laboratory experience.
  • Computer Skills: Basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; Database systems.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
