QA Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples, operate laboratory instrumentation and report results
• Create, distribute, and maintain Certificates of Analysis
• Create internal specification sheets
• Coincide required testing with third party lab, including creating and distributing transmittal testing forms
• Ensures proper storage, organization, and disposal of retain samples
• File laboratory paperwork and understand multiple filing systems
• Train in preparing and performing sensory (organoleptic) evaluations
• Train in performing chemical and physical analyses on various samples, including raw material, intermediate and finished products.
• Tests include but are not limited to visual inspections, specific gravity, refractive index, flashpoint, brix, pH, moisture, etc.
• Enter and look up information in different databases
• Reports out of specification results in a timely manner to responsible individuals and departments.
• Train in any applicable laboratory instrument calibration activities.
• Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices including use of PPE.
• Assist with general lab upkeep; Keep work areas clean and organized

Requirements

• A Bachelors or Associate degree in science, Chemistry is preferred
• Prior experience in laboratory setting a plus
• Ability to make mathematical computations
• Ability to work off shift, and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Visual acuity required to perform inspections
