QA Tech Fab AM (Acme)

Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a QA Technician for our Acme Street plant in Green Bay, WI.

About the Role

As a QA Technician, you will perform daily rotation of tasks including temperatures, box tare weights, sampling, and grade changes. You will review and accurately complete required paperwork such as GMP checks, SSOP corrective action logs, and SOP corrective action logs, ensuring accountability for accuracy. The role involves conducting pre-op inspections, condensation checks, and swabs, as well as monitoring the implementation and compliance of all food safety and quality procedures on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor food safety and quality procedures, report deficiencies, take corrective action, and follow up.
• Perform visual line and finished product inspections to ensure conformance to specifications and correct deficiencies.
• Use production specification reports to gather, measure, analyze, and record inspection data (e.g., weights, temperatures, grades, quantities).
• Collect samples for lab analysis.
• Interact with USDA as needed.
• Interpret test results, compare them to specifications and control limits, investigate issues, take corrective action, recommend preventative measures, and document findings.
• Perform strength level 3 work.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures (warm, hot, humid, cold, wet) and slippery surfaces at different heights around moving equipment, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write), including reading specifications, SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP, and completing written documentation.
• Ability to work extended hours Monday through Saturday, including daily overtime as required. Start times vary based on production needs.
• Must successfully complete training in Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and Food Defense.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience in a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Prior production experience.
• Degree in Agricultural Science, Biology, Meat Science, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on knowledge, training, or experience in Basic Microbiology, Basic Chemistry, Sanitation, and HACCP.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
• Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).
