QA Tech - 2nd Shift

IPC is a fully integrated retail, foodservice, and private-label producer of fresh and processed meats, operating multiple facilities across the U.S. with over 3,100 team members and $1.5B in annual sales. Specialty Foods Group (SFG), makers of "Kentucky Legend" ham, is a leading producer of premium-branded and private-label processed meat products, recently voted "Kentucky Manufacturer of the Year for 2020."

About the role

This full-time (40 hours per week) position involves food safety verifications, process capability studies, and data collection to support operational decision-making. The role requires a commitment to timely task completion, including overtime as needed to meet goals.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and document process and product requirements, including development and maintenance of work instructions and finished product specifications.
• Provide quality-related training to co-workers and production personnel.
• Perform job-specific work instructions, update procedures and forms according to document control policies.
• Conduct product and process audits, report status, and monitor through resolution.
• Maintain equipment in a sanitary manner and in accordance with applicable guidelines.
• Ensure label approvals, verifications, and compliance.
• Communicate, resolve, and document process and procedural deviations in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and plant policies, including HACCP-related activities, GMP, and SSOP’s.
• Perform product attribute and sensory evaluations according to finished product specifications.
• Monitor and resolve product and process deviations related to SSOP’s, NR’s, product complaints, and non-conforming product.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a related field plus two (2) years of related experience, or
• Four (4) years of experience in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Objectivity and openness to others’ views, with the ability to receive and provide feedback positively.
• Commitment to building a positive team spirit and prioritizing team success over individual interests.
