QA SUPERVISOR
About the Role
This position oversees the nightly sanitation process. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that JBS policies and procedures are being followed during the sanitation process, including employee safety, identifying and documenting sanitation and plant opportunities, monitoring the sanitation process to ensure proper application of cleaning procedures, verifying documentation and dilution of cleaners and sanitizers, and preparing the plant for pre-operational inspection. The supervisor will also inspect different areas of the plant to identify repairs needed by maintenance or outside contractors and complete the appropriate paperwork to generate work orders. This role interacts with multiple department leaders on specific issues.
Responsibilities
- Monitors the sanitation process, reports opportunities and operational issues through the completion of the daily nightly log and emails.
- Ensures that JBS and government policies are being followed.
- Completes walkthroughs of the plant to identify areas of opportunity and notifies appropriate individuals through email or work orders.
- Serves as a liaison between sanitation management, plant departments, and government regulatory organizations.
- Verifies that chemical dilutions are correct either through visual monitoring or titration.
- Manages the weekly master sanitation schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed and documented.
- Documents and ensures corrective actions are in place for items not serviced.
- Visually verifies required documents at least once a week to ensure the sanitation contractor is audit-ready.
- Verifies staffing numbers by area.
- Conducts daily/after-shift meetings to review opportunities, concerns, and improvements for the sanitation shift and plant improvement.
- Assists in pre-operational inspection as needed.
- Documents safety inspections, reports findings, and recommends corrective actions.
- Provides security assistance within the plant for unexpected events, contractor absences, and plant ground perimeter abnormalities.
- Ensures safety compliance with PPE, LOTO, scissor lifts/mobile equipment, and hazard communication; oversees, inspects, and audits daily.
- Monitors chemical labeling, Safety Data Sheets, and reports issues for correction.
- Monitors the chemical cage for expected condition and compliance.
- Conducts and participates in injury investigations, safety violation reports, and cardinal rule investigations.
- Provides coaching to all sanitizers on the application of safety principles, practices, and techniques.
- Assists the Incident Commander in facility evacuations and shelter-in-place procedures.
- Helps direct rescue, firefighting operations, and police authority in emergencies.

Physical Requirements
- Very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Requires acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work long hours in a no-kill food processing environment that is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their workdays. Pay
$77,968.80–$85,000 annually.
