About the Role
Follows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components, and/or operations. Develops, assures, and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures and systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000, and AS9100 standards), quality audits, and review processes.
This role requires working knowledge and skills to perform analytical, scientific, or operational processes within the Quality Assurance Methods Function. Work is performed within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods with a moderate degree of supervision.
Responsibilities
- Defines and specifies activities, processes, and standards to fulfill quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
- Builds and maintains infrastructure and systems to ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
- Identifies and addresses issues with equipment performance.
- Audits, monitors, and determines the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
- Reports and troubleshoots manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods.
- Conducts tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Requirements
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a technical discipline.
- Technical expertise, research skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to identify and seek needed information.
Physical Requirements
- Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require exposure to changing climate conditions, both inside and outside, and/or operating machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift or outside normal business hours as required.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
