QA Release Engineer

About the role

HireArt is partnering with an innovative, on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company to find a QA Release Engineer to enhance software quality and release readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual and automated testing of software applications to identify defects, risks, and quality concerns.
  • Review and validate software changes, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing activities.
  • Analyze pull requests and support the validation process to ensure software changes meet quality standards before release.
  • Triage system-generated scenarios and investigate potential issues identified during testing.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to identify and communicate the impact of regressions and performance issues.
  • Track, document, and manage defects through resolution using established QA processes and tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis on software issues and partner with development teams to drive timely resolutions.
  • Validate bug fixes and software enhancements through comprehensive re-testing to prevent regressions.
  • Generate clear and concise test reports, highlighting risks, issues, quality metrics, and release readiness.
  • Support release processes, validation workflows, infrastructure activities, and automated testing pipelines.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance software quality, release efficiency, and developer productivity.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of proven experience as a QA Engineer, with experience supporting software quality assurance, testing, and release validation.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • A strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar platforms.
  • Experience using issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting machine learning, perception, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other complex software systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, release management processes, and software deployment workflows.
  • Experience analyzing software performance and identifying process improvements that increase engineering efficiency.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted development tools and modern software development practices.
