About the role
Suffolk is seeking a Construction QA/QC Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for implementing and managing quality control plans to ensure all work is compliant with specifications, plans, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all areas of the business.
- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality.
- Create project-specific Quality Management Plans and verify their implementation.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department staff, and subcontractors.
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in quality management.
- Represent Suffolk with clients, trade partners, and project team members.
- Manage a team of Quality Managers and professionals to execute administrative tasks related to quality reporting and planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations and follow-up evaluations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and addressing quality issues across project teams.
- Assist with compliance on federal, state, and local quality regulations, including ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Act as a resource for field operations regarding compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management, or equivalent field.
- 5+ years of experience in related construction fields.
- Strong understanding of means and methods of construction.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Necessary attributes: passion, integrity, hard work, and professionalism.
- Self-motivated, self-confident, and able to escalate issues appropriately.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and management skills.
