QA/QC Manager
About the role
L.F. Driscoll, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking QA/QC Managers to support our mission-critical team at our Cedar Rapids, Iowa site. The QA/QC Managers are responsible for understanding client needs and requirements, ensuring company and customer quality standards are met, maintaining quality assurance processes, testing materials, recording and analyzing test results, conducting and supervising quality tests, inspecting equipment, and communicating test results.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive inspections to align with project plans, technical specifications, and relevant project documentation, ensuring consistent high-quality outcomes.
- Foster a clean and safe environment, enforcing strict safety protocols among staff members.
- Effectively implement quality corrective actions to meet project requirements and specifications.
- Prepare and deliver reports as per project specifications, providing necessary documentation to project managers and clients.
- Maintain meticulous documentation practices for thorough auditing.
- Proactively calibrate and repair measuring equipment, ensuring its proper functioning.
- Record and document test results according to established protocols.
- Participate in quality calibrations and internal audits with professionalism and precision.
- Stay updated on industry knowledge through reading technical publications, attending seminars, and pursuing educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with government agencies during inspection processes, maintaining a cooperative and compliant attitude.
- Work closely with project management to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Create project submittals that align with project specifications and plans.
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Requirements
Required: Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience, 7+ years of quality assurance and control experience.
Desired: Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units. Knowledge of relevant legislation and quality control standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret instructions, whether written, spoken, or in diagrams.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflows.
- Highly proactive and responsive to internal and external customers.
- Able to work with all levels of management.
