QA/QC Inspector

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge to determine degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installation to Wanzek or Client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of construction on large-scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including but not limited to:
  • Roads, environmental (SWPPP), excavations, concrete, rebar
  • Substations, transmission lines, solar racking, and PV installation
  • Underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection
  • Welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and a wide variety of other mechanical and electrical equipment
• Demonstrate good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC and QA data are properly and accurately recorded.
• Monitor and record all work scope being executed on a daily basis and follow reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client, as needed.
• Prevent deficiencies while working closely with field operating teams through pre-construction quality control inspections.
• Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Work closely with the field quality staff, acting as their field representative to ensure construction understands and follows QA/QC requirements.
• Interface with field supervision to maintain open lines of communication and reporting, monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
• Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections for transfer to permanent hard copy and/or electronic files.
• Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
• Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
• Ensure daily task schedules are met to align with the project schedule.
• Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, or
• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 1-3 years of experience in a related construction field.
• Inspection-related certifications, such as NDE, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to independently perform work.
• Must be a self-starter, organized, and have good interpersonal skills.
• Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
• Write daily reports and document project activities.
• Effectively collect and record field data to ensure activities conform to corporate Quality Control procedures.
• Ensure effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
• Preferred: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume.
• Preferred: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.

Pay

$19.00 - $22.00/hourly
