QA/QC Field Engineer
About the role
The QA/QC Field Engineer is a technical assistant to the field, acting as an internal liaison between the field, Project Management team, Preconstruction Team, and remote support teams. This role supports the setup and maintenance of QA/QC software(s), coordinates internally and with other contractors, and assists the Project Manager with tracking of status, labor, financials, and contract requirements. The QA/QC Field Engineer also supports technical tools (i.e. iPads, QA/QC software), communicates project specifications, and provides support details/drawings needed for QA/QC tasks to keep installation and QA/QC resources efficient.
Responsibilities
- Leads training needs for technology tools, software applications, and SOPs.
- Understands relational data sets for equipment and feeders and able to generate reports from such data.
- Ensures detailed procedures and checklists are in place to document that equipment is installed and energized to project requirements, applicable standards, and customer requirements and specifications.
- Assembles project information that documents installation conforms to project requirements, applicable standards, and customer requirements.
- Collects and enters data for KPI reporting and visual reporting.
- Provides support material and reports to project leads as required.
- Provides support for commissioning activities.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- 4 years of related experience.
- Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willing and able to learn project checklist and issue management software packages.
- Able to effectively communicate with a broad range of teams.
- Knowledge of electrical terminology and components is preferred.
- Travel: 0-100%.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
