QA Inspector Swing shift 3:15pm-11:45pm

About the Role

This position involves performing quality assurance (QA) tasks on the production floor and during final audit stages, ensuring compliance with QMS procedures and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Floor QA:
  • Create inspection record templates; pull samples, quality alerts, and required documents for future jobs per production schedule in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Provide quality support during job start-ups and perform first-piece inspection and approval in a timely manner.
  • Perform in-process sample inspections per inspection plans and record findings on inspection records.
  • Manage all part samples related to jobs running on the production floor, including pulling, creating, and returning to storage.
  • Document non-conforming products during inspection by opening Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) per QMS procedures.
  • Support production machine operators and team members on product quality questions.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all QA floor documentation throughout production.
  • Provide support for customer-specified Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required.
• Final Audit:
  • Perform AQL sample final inspections per inspection plan and in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Conduct AQL sample receiving inspections for all items used in manufacturing, following QMS procedures.
  • Ensure all incoming items used in manufacturing have certifications, which are properly scanned and associated for retrieval.
  • Create and supply all Certificates of Compliance as per customer requirements, including material certifications or inspection data.
  • Ensure all final and receiving inspection records are complete and accurate per QMS procedures.
  • Backup and assist with floor inspections or secondary final inspections when workload permits or team members are absent.
  • Document non-conforming products during inspection by opening NCRs per QMS procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and completing duties consistently.
• Self-starter with the ability to motivate others and make decisions when required.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with good manufacturing practices, quality initiatives, and programs.
• Some experience with QMS systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100.
• Ability to develop and maintain a team-oriented work environment.
• Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes.
• Physically capable of frequently lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a consistent pace in a fast-moving production environment.
• Experience with computers and software such as Microsoft Office or inspection-related software.
• Experience with engineering part drawings related to part geometry, dimensions & tolerances, drawing views, and interpretation of requirements.
• Proficient use of hand-held measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, optical comparator).
• Knowledge and interpretation skills regarding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Working knowledge of inspecting techniques and testing procedures.
